Sue Rohde

My name is Susan Rohde, and I am happy to join the faculty at Queen of Martyrs. I was born and raised on the southwest side of Chicago, attending St. Bede the Venerable Elementary School. I have been married for 32 years and have 3 children. Upon earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Business/Accounting from DePaul University, I worked as an accountant for several years. After having three children of my own, I decided to switch careers and become a teacher. I received my Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Saint Xavier University. For five years, I worked as a resource teacher at Christ The King School in Chicago. Due to my experience working with students of all ages and abilities, the Archdiocese Office of Inclusive Education then offered me a position as a special education teacher, traveling to several Catholic schools near Midway Airport. During this time, I was blessed to receive a scholarship to attend The University of Notre Dame Alliance for Catholic Education, where I earned an endorsement in English as a Second Language. Most recently, I have worked as a middle school teacher (math, language arts, social studies, and religion) at St. Joseph School in Homewood, IL. Unfortunately, the school had to close due to declining enrollment. I was very sad to see the school close, but I look forward to meeting all my new students and their families
