Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Alyssa Papiernik
I would like to take time to introduce myself as your child's third grade teacher. My name is Ms. Alyssa Papiernik and this is my first year teaching.
I am from Lemont, Illinois and I went to a Catholic School for my K-8 education at SS. Cyril and Methodius School. For my undergraduate degree, I went to Illinois State University and graduated with a Human and Educational Services Degree. During my time at ISU, I completed field experiences in Special Education, such as co-teaching in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades, pulling students out for extra help in the resource room, and working in 7th and 8th grade in a therapeutic day school in Chicago. After I finished at ISU, I returned to school to earn my master’s degree in Elementary Education at Lewis University, and I have one class to complete which I will be finishing over the summer.
While at Lewis University, I observed and taught in a 2nd grade classroom at Jesse C. White Learning Academy for Reading and Math. My student teaching was done at John R. Tibbott in Bolingbrook, where I taught all subjects in a 4th grade classroom. During my time at JRT, I was able to establish a good rapport with students, write and accommodate lesson plans for students, and try my classroom management ideas in the classroom. I recently completed a maternity leave position at St. Cyril’s for second grade, where I taught all subject areas, and adjusted lesson plans to accommodate the students and fit their learning needs. Along with executing lessons, I was able to form a good rapport with students and implement my own classroom management style with the students.
I am looking forward to working with your student this school year. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the class. I can’t wait to work with your student and am looking forward to getting to know both you and your child throughout the school year!
