I'm Mary Ann Cronin and this is my fortieth year at Queen of Martyrs School. I have taught forty-two years all with the Archdioceses. I am the Physical Education teacher as well as an aide with the 3 year olds. I also have a part-time job at Walker Branch Library where I am the TIL (Teacher in the Library). When I'm not working I'm spending time with my family or friends. My hobbies include gardening, reading, playing the guitar and watching Chicago sports teams especially my favorite the Chicago Cubs.
In my Physical Education classes I stress socialization and creative play with the Pre-k thru Kindergarten students. My primary students work on movement and wellness concepts thru various low-organized games. Intermediate as well as Junior High students will learn various skills which will help them to live healthy lives. In all my classes I stress character development by expecting my students to be respectful, responsible and caring individuals who work together for the good of all.
In order for my Physical Education classes to run smoothly I expect all students to follow my rules which I go over with them in class and I post them in the gym.
As an incentive for appropriate behavior, students who follow the rules and help to make our school awesome will get special recognition for their efforts. In addition to this I will contact you via progress reports and report cards as to how your child is doing in my class.
If you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to e-mail my any time. Please check the Physical Education News on my web page for more details on my subject. I look forward as always to a wonderful new school year.
