Today is the Feast Day of Saint Francis of Assisi. Francis was born into the privileged life of a nobleman. Eventually, by the grace of God, the worldly desires no longer satisfied him; he desired a simpler life with his love for poverty, nature, and simplicity. Eventually, he founded the religious order of Franciscans.
To celebrate this special day, Father Benedykt lead the students in the song "This Little Light of Mine" during mass as he taught them of the joy Jesus brings into our lives. He also visited the primary classrooms to bless their stuffed animals in honor of the Feast Day of Saint Francis.

This past Sunday Father Richie and Father Bob celebrated the feast of St. Francis with a pet blessing at 50 Acre Park for Queen of Martyrs and St Bernadette. There were dogs of all shapes, sizes and color. Several brave cats joined in the blessing too. There was even had a Guinea pig! After the blessing, Father Richie headed over to the the farm and blessed two horses, a miniature horse, two goats and eighteen chickens and two cats. It was a beautiful day for the blessing!
